That is until we came across the Landyachtz Dinghy. Today you are going to read our complete Landyachtz Dinghy Review.
First of all, the name itself was quite intimidating and with a reputable brand name like Landyachtz to back it up, the board got all our attention.
But who is the Landyachtz Dinghy designed for?
It is a must-have for riders who are seeking a versatile cruiser for commuting or carving or simply put those who just want to enjoy longboarding to the fullest.
The board is a beauty no doubt so we were not surprised at the price tag which is not exactly on the low end.
But don’t get us wrong, the Landyachtz Dinghy does not cost a crazy lot either and if you compare its quality and top-notch construction to many other longboards of the same price range you will notice that the Landyachtz Dinghy is a great bargain.

A Unique Construction
This makes the board excellent for commuting when taking sudden turns becomes essential and an everyday thing.
The board also sports a drop-through configuration where the truck is top-mounted and a bit of a rocker that works together to provide riders with maximum stability.
The low profile structure allows riders to remain closer to the ground and main balance (something beginners can look forward to).
The Deck Of The Landyachtz Dinghy
We reviewed the Dinghy Growler which came with a 28.5-inch deck made of 7 ply maple wood for just the right blend of flex and stiffness.
Deck length ranges from 28.5 inches but all the models have the same width of 8 inches which provides riders with plenty of stepping platform.
The wood construction is the same for all models.
For first time riders or if you are seeking a board for long-distance riding then we recommend the 40-inch model because it is both faster and has more stability but for everyday commuting, carving, and cruising the 28.5-inch model will be a better fit.
We also found the smaller versions had an advantage over the larger models in terms of portability as the compact sizing made them lighter and easier to carry around.
Polar Bear trucks- If you are familiar with trucks then you probably know that Polar Bear is among the best longboard and skateboard trucks and the fact that the manufacturers have incorporated these trucks on the Landyachtz Dinghy say a lot about the board’s overall quality.
The trucks measure 105mm and are Polar Bear 45 ° Traditional Kingpin (TKP)
Wheels- The 63mm Hawgs Mini Monster Wheels have a durometer of 78 A. While the hardness is ideal for cruising and commuting on most surfaces, the size of the wheels runs a little small.
We would have preferred larger wheels for better speed so this may be one of the few drawbacks of the Landyachtz Dinghy.
Bear Spaceballs Bearings – The pre-oiled bearings are rated ABEC 7 so they are designed to promote better speed and smooth spinning of the wheels.
Durable and reliable performance from the components means that you don’t have to put in much effort to push the board around and the distance covered by each kick start is long and consistent.
Riding The Landyachtz Dinghy
In terms of durability, we found both versions to be equally great but when it came to maneuverability the 28.5’’ Landyachtz Dinghy model definitely scored higher.
We were able to make sharp turns with precision and cut through the crowd on a busy street with ease.
However, we noticed that the 35 ‘’ Landyachtz Battle Axe was able to maintain more stability and roll much faster which made performance way smoother even while riding high speed.
- Beautiful visuals
- Durable board
- High-grade components
- Drop through design
- Versatile- ideal for cruising, commuting, and carving
- Wheels run small
- Not great for sliding or downhill riding
- Price is slightly on the higher end
